Marion County sheriff's deputies had to subdue an Indianapolis man who, they said, was getting ready to spit on and possibly punch the judge presiding over his child-support case Tuesday afternoon.

Michael Green had been given a 60-day jail sentence about 2 p.m. when he tried to lunge toward temporary Judge Terrance L. Kinnard, police said.

Court deputies, including Deputy Charles Ingram, subdued Green. Ingram said Green also unsuccessfully tried to hit a deputy.

After Green was restrained, Kinnard sentenced him to an additional 90 days for resisting law enforcement.
