Two Marion County sheriff's deputies suffered minor injuries in a tussle with a defendant in a tunnel that leads from the City-County Building to the Marion County Jail.

The defendant, Carey Hickman, was upset after receiving a 60-day sentence in Marion Superior Court. Hickman, 32, had managed to undo two security straps on one of the deputies' gun holsters before he was subdued.

The incident required medical treatment for the two deputies. One injured his left ankle, and the other hurt his left knee.
