City government needs the Market Square site

May 2, 2003
It is moderately unfathomable to me that the city would consider anything but a new courthouse/city building for the Market Square Area site. We have spent millions for stadiums and will be spending more. Yet, we have a city government building that is bursting at the seams.

We even spent millions to tear down MSA while we routinely release all variety of criminals because of jail overcrowding and too few courts.

It is shortsighted to turn this area into more condos or business. Who will be making the money from this? It is the city and its citizens who will be losing big.
