Build a justice center on Market Square site

December 3, 2002
In response to the Nov. 25 article "Law groups seek new courthouse," and considering all the publicity surrounding jail overcrowding:

Why doesn't the city reserve the former Market Square Arena location and build a justice center similar to the one in Cincinnati?

It has all courts and lock-up facilities, including juvenile courts and detention center, in one large facility.

The location is perfect in relation to the existing jail facility and City-County Building. Everybody seems to want to use Band-Aid remedies for these issues. We need to just put it into the budget and do it. We really can't afford not to.
